Brand picks - Sass and Belle

This latest brand picks is all thanks to my wonderful mum, who is a massive enabler when it comes to me spending money. She sent me an article on these Sass and Belle biscuit cushions, and I was hooked.
The website is so cute and quirky and had plenty of affordable gifts perfect for the festive season or all year round. These are a few of my top picks at the moment.

Crazy Clutch Lady ?

I've never really been one for clutches at the best of times, one because I'm so clumsy I nearly always lose it/drop it. Secondly, I'm extremely lazy on a night out, I like to hold my drink and have a dance, add a bag to that mix and it will all end in tears.

When this little beauty pooped up on my news feed though, I thought it deserved a mention. Brought to you by New look this is a "Crazy clutch ladies " dream. The faux fur cat bag comes in nude and black and call me odd but I do not see how this could work with any outfit, bar a Halloween costume!

Am I being cynical, is this all the rage ? Let me know your thoughts on fake taxidermy under your arm.

Blonde vs Brunette

I posted a while back about my hair confusion regarding if I go back to blonde or stay on the brunette train a while longer. I've ummed and ahhed for months now but then this little info graphic popped into my inbox, and I thought it would be an excellent thing to share with you all.

It was created by the lovely people over at Cool Blades a Hair and Beauty Supply website and includes some of the perceptions of the colours as well as  some tips and tricks.

What do you think ? Do blondes have more fun? Are brunettes better marriage material? Needless to say, this has not helped my decision.

Christmas Countdown - Boots 3 for 2 picks

Nothing says Christmas to me like the start of the Boots 3 for 2 gift set extravagaza. I don't think a year goes buy that someone does not receive one of any of the hundreds of bath smelly littering the aisles over the festive periods. Don't get me wrong, I love a good bath set, but there are some that really are style over substance and the Christmasy print adds a couple of pounds to the price. This post is going to be my hot picks for this years 3 for 2 selection in a few different categories.

Christmas Countdown Series

Don't shoot me if your one of those, "it's not Christmas till December" people. To me as soon as the Autumn winter clothes are out and the mornings are too dark to do your make up in natural light, it's officially Christmas time.

I am at heart a serial Christmas lover and the best thing for me is organising gifts and planning early. I know I'm not the only one like this, so I decide to start a Christmas Countdown series with lots of posts all about the festive season. Hopefully this will get us all in the spirit, but also make sure were super organised and can be chilling out with  large glass of bubbles on Christmas eve and not running around the shops grabbing the last picks on the shelves.

The posts will not take over my blog so don't worry if your more Grinch than Santa, I will still be posting other content.

I hope you enjoy, and make sure you let me know if there is anything you want to see a post on!

Bag of the moment - Mulberry Cara Delevingne Bag

Every now and again I get an overwhelming desire to blow my entire pay packet on a bag of my dreams. It so far has only happened once before and as you may have guessed that was on my Mulberry Del Rey, or as it's now better known my "one mulberry bag."

This feeling has hit me in the past few months and I had to share my bag lust with the world, at the moment its the Mulberry Cara Delevinge bag. This satchel, backpack hybrid is the perfect combination of sophisticated and casual and comes in so many options my mind doesn't know where to begin.

I was of course first drawn to the ox blood colour, but even I know two very similar mulbs in the exact same colour is verging on ridiculous. After much browsing and umming and ahhing I have settled on my two firm favourites. The only thing swaying me more towards one is the massive jump in price range.

First up is the classic bag in black leather,an oldie but a goody if you will. What is better than a classic black mulbs. This bag is for sale at £995, so not quite on my pay day wishlist just yet.

The second option in my make believe shopping list is the same bag but in a taupe colour with lion rivets. This is my ultimate bag, the bag of dreams. However, at £1,600 it may have to stay in my dreams for the time being .

Autumn picks #7

I have decided to round the week off with my one true love at any time of the year, but is a must during the colder months- chocolate! No evening in with a blanket, candles and crappy TV is complete without a bar (or 5) of chocolate.
My latest obsession is an oldey but a goody and it's the Kit Kat Chunky! Don't get me wrong I love all chocolate and I wouldn't turn any down if your going to throw it at me, but I do have a soft spot for these at the moment.

Autumn picks #6

With the colder weather comes the undoubted chances of extreme rain, hail or worse snow, and we all know there is nothing worse than perfecting your locks only to walk outside into a downpour. In order to protect my mane and also keep my head warm on my daily walks to work, I rely on a knitted beanie. This one is Topshops yearly offering and is not to dissimilar to the one I bought last year.

Autumn picks #5

As soon as the weather takes a turn down the temperature dial my skin starts to go into meltdown. It jumps from oily mess to extremely dehydrated and cracking- I know beaut right? The one item I always go back to that seems to save me every time is the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. If you haven't tried this before it's a very thick sticky consistency with a very apparent smell, that is not to everyone's taste, but if you can get over that it is an amazing all purpose balm perfect for chapped lips and noses as well as whacking on the odd blemish.

Autumn picks #4

If your an avid subscriber you may have noticed a slight cheat here, these boots were featured on a recent haul post for my new job. Having said that, I stick by these very much being an autumn pick. I mean who can say no to a classic Chelsea boot.
These ones are from New Look, which I think is one of the best places on the high street for good quality affordable shoes.

Autumn picks #3

Todays pick is where my techny side comes in, well a little bit. I am the girl constantly glued to their phone, whether it be chatting away on the long walk to the station, bopping away to Spotify or tweeting my life story, I can not live without it. Not even when it's so cold I feel like I may loose a finger!
That is where my third pick of Touchscreen gloves comes in, these bad boys, as I'm sure your aware allow you to use all your favourite touchscreen  devices whilst keeping all your pinkies in tact.

There are hundreds of these on the market varying in price and I'm sure quality, but I've gone cheaper in the past and never had issues. These ones are from Amazon but If you need them asap I know Primark have them at around the same price point.

Autumn picks #2

Any Autumn lover worth their salt will not be surprised that my second pick is some super cosy slipper boots. These ones are woollen, faux fur filled booties from Accessorize, and maybe on the more luxury side, but hey your little piggies are worth it.
As the cold evenings and frosty mornings set in these are a God send for that morning dash to the bathroom, or an evening curl up to catch up on the soaps. Either way, a new snuggly pair of slippers is a must, and the high street is full of them, so make sure you don't leave it to late and let your feet get left out in the cold!

Autumn picks #1

As you may have guessed from my recent posts, I love the autumn season and  decided why not go the whole hog and do a week long autumn picks series. All things from home to fashion, obviously with a bit of beauty thrown in.

My first pick is the Sugared Apple Yankee candle. This is one of these super sweet almost Christmasy smells that just automatically makes me think of, dark nights, lots of blankets and frosty weather.

Yankee candles can be a little on the pricey side, but I have to say this candle is one that even as soon as I take the lid off I'm instantly hit with the scent. It lingers for ages and fills my whole flat, so definitely worth the extra pennies.

As much as I love this smell, I'm looking for some more Wintery scents for the new season, so  if your a Yankee fan what are your top picks?

Autumn Winter/ New job Haul

As I mentioned in my previous post I have recently got a new job and although I work in an office at the moment, the dress code is much more laid back and not at all formal. So in order to make sure I am not the office scruff, I had to update my wardrobe and it just so happened that every shop I  went into had great new stuff.
I do need some more bits and bobs but I think for now, this will be enough to create some good outfits for the first couple of weeks.

( H&M Black Skater dress- £14.99 )

(Forever 21 Brown Boots - £22.90)

(Primark camel coat - £25 )

(Forever 21 Floral print blouse - £13.50 )

(Primak fluffy jumpers - £10)

(Forever 21 Leather look pencil skirt - £14)

As you can see most of these items are not currently online but I purchased all of these on Saturday so they are still available in store.

Latest in Beauty Glamour Beauty Power Box 2014

I have never really fully jumped on the beauty box bandwagon, mainly because I don't like spending money on items I potentially wouldn't or couldn't use. I have in the past had a 3 month subscription to glossy box as a gift, which I loved but just never really fully committed. In order to combat the issue of receiving 15 nail varnishes I cant use, or a pink eye-shadow that may make me look like I have a serious eye infection I only ever buy boxes with the contents explained. So when I saw Latest in Beauty had realised a new Glamour Beauty Power List  box, I was sold!

The box included a selection of this years best beauty picks as well as a digital subscription to Glamour itself, with a value of over £80 but on sale now for only £15.99.

The box includes; 30ml Liz Earl Cleanse & Polish (with cloth), Eyeko eye make-up remover wipes, 60ml Philip Kingsley damage defence spray, 30ml Laura Mercier foundation primer, 25ml James Reed Sleep mask tan, Bourjois Volume 1 seconde mascara, Maybelline stripped nudes coloursentaional lipstick and a digital subscription to Glamour magazine.

For me this box is amazing and gave me an opportunity to try some higher end products, such as the foundation primer that I wouldn't have ordinarily bought. The sample sizes are very generous and you really feel like you will be able to test out the products as well as having two full sized items as well.

Like I said I have never really been one for this subscription services before but this is the second one I have bought from latest in beauty and I am more than impressed, and will definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for more in the future.

If you haven't yet picked yours up grab it now before stocks run out, I may also be nabbing a few as Christmas pressies for some of my make up loving friends.
